the trip to the dentist
I've been having this severe pain in mouth for the past 1 week but it gotten worst 3 days ago. I could not sleep as my ear hurts so badly and my head was just pounding ( like the church bells).
I only managed to sleep at 630 this AM, got up at 1030am and the pain was still there. Gasp. So I went online and look up for dental clinics around my area. Guess what??? I called up like 10 clinics and all of them were fully booked till July. WTF MAN!! Do the people here really have bad teeth?? Seriously, that's just unbelievable! But THANK GOD I manage to find one who was available at the end and it was just 3 blocks from my house.
I got to the clinic 15 minutes before my appointment. As usual you have the normal procedure where you gotta fill in some forms and etc. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the nurse called my name. When I got in the room the dentist was there and he said,
"Hey! How's it going?"
Honestly, I was shock to see a young and cute dentist. Come on! Doctors we visit these days are normally the old uncle looking ones! And of all days I was looking like crap.
So I replied, "I'm good, thanks. How are you"?
Suddenly the pain in mouth just went away. How stupidly bizzare. LOL.
I told him the problem and he examined my teeth and turn out that my wisdom tooth is badly infected. Hence the nerve is causing the pain. He said I should really extract the wisdom tooth which I eventually did.
I sat in fear on the chair thinking of all the stories I've heard bout wisdom tooth surgery. I never had the phobia of going to the dentist. Come on, I had braces before so go figure how many times a year I visit the dentist. But just now, I could feel the adrenaline rush.
Nevertheless, the cool part of the trip - the clinic had a plasma tv on top of the ceiling and coincidentally Desperate Housewives was on. During the surgery I had myself entertained with Desperate Housewives and at one point I completely forgot that I'm actually getting my tooth remove.
Dr. Cutie was actually struggling with my tooth and I think it took him about 30 mins to get it out. Boy it was a tough one! I saw my fugly tooth and it was just gross. I should have took it back with me though and at least have a picture of it. There was no pain at all during the whole process but I'm starting to feel a bit of pain now as the numbness is wearing off. =/
So anyway, Dr. Cutie told me to come in back in a few weeks time for cleaning....but I don't think I wanna go unless he wanna do it for free! XD The surgery already cost me a bomb and I don't wanna just waste my money on cleaning! I hope I'll be better in no time!
